Your guide to Purple for schools
For anyone using the school dashboards. Covers signing in, periods and filters, every tab from School Overview to Explorer to student profiles, recording provisions, inviting users, troubleshooting and support.
Your guide to Purple for trusts
Purple lives in your browser at app.purple.education, so there is nothing to install.
01
Enter your details
Go to app.purple.education and enter the email address your account was set up with, plus your password.
02
Check your email
Every sign-in uses two-factor authentication. Purple sends a verification code to your email address; enter it on screen to finish signing in.
03
Forgotten your password?
Press “Forgot password?” on the sign-in page and follow the link in the reset email to choose a new one. No need to contact anyone.
I have not received my verification code
Check your junk or spam folder first. If it still has not arrived, request another code from the sign-in screen. If you are still unable to access Purple, contact us at info@purple.education.
I cannot see a school, dashboard or provision I expected to see
Access is linked to your account and permissions. Contact your Purple administrator or the Purple team so we can check your access.
My figures do not look as I expected
First check the reporting period, comparison period, filters and attendance settings at the top of the dashboard. If something still does not look right, contact us and tell us which dashboard and figure you are looking at.
How do I invite a new user?
Administrators and Global Administrators can invite users from Account settings. The user’s email domain must be approved first, which a Global Administrator does under Account settings, then Organisation. Full details are in the “Inviting users” page of each guide.
A member of staff has left
Let us know, or ask a Global Administrator to update the account, so their access can be changed or removed promptly. In the meantime, once their school or trust email account is closed, two-factor authentication means they can no longer sign in to Purple, because the verification code is sent to that address.
