What Purple offers

Can Purple combine quantitative and qualitative insight?

Yes. Purple brings together core MIS data alongside wider insight such as surveys, engagement measures and programme participation, helping leaders build a fuller picture of progress, need and impact.

What types of data can Purple analyse?

Purple can analyse any relevant data stored within your MIS. This often includes, but is not limited to, demographics, attendance, behaviour incidents, achievement points, suspensions, detentions, attainment and wider contextual data. By bringing these datasets together, Purple helps leaders spot patterns, evaluate strategies and evidence impact more clearly over time.

Can Purple analyse both school-wide trends and individual pupil journeys?

Yes. Purple allows users to move from high-level insight across schools, cohorts and groups down to individual pupil-level detail in just a few clicks. That makes it easier to understand the wider patterns shaping performance, while also diving into a young person’s journey and needs.

How is Purple different from spreadsheets or manual reports?

Purple eradicates the need for fragmented spreadsheets and manual reporting by automating the analysis, benchmarking and insight generation in one platform. Instead of working from static reports and time-consuming formulas, teams get live, up-to-date data, far more powerful analysis and a much faster way to understand trends, compare cohorts and evaluate impact.

Can Purple be used across multiple schools or programmes?

Absolutely. Purple is built to deliver clear, consistent analysis at scale across multiple schools, programmes and settings. It gives leaders one powerful platform to compare trends, track impact and maintain a standardised view of data, making trust-wide oversight and programme evaluation far easier, faster and more meaningful.

Does Purple support intervention tracking?

Without question — this is one of Purple’s standout strengths. Purple is built to track interventions from input to outcome in one place, giving schools, trusts and organisations a far stronger way to monitor delivery, evidence impact and see exactly what is making a difference over time.

Is Purple suitable for Ofsted inspections and accountability?

Yes. Purple gives schools and trusts a stronger way to evidence impact during inspections, reviews and wider accountability conversations. By combining quantitative data, such as attendance, behaviour and intervention outcomes, with qualitative insight from surveys, Purple helps leaders build a clearer picture of inclusion, belonging, support and progress.

Can pupil data be anonymised within Purple?

Purple can anonymise data where appropriate, particularly when analysing programme participation or impact across multiple schools. This allows organisations to evaluate outcomes while protecting individual identities.

Onboarding & support

How long does it take to get started with Purple?

Purple is designed to get schools, trusts and organisations up and running incredibly quickly. Once the Wonde connection has been approved, the full data set is pulled straight into Purple for health checks and the dashboards begin populating immediately, allowing onboarding, training and early exploration of the platform to start right away.

What support is provided during onboarding?

Purple includes structured onboarding, tailored training sessions and ongoing support. A named account manager supports setup, walkthroughs and continued use to ensure teams feel confident using the platform.

Will training be provided for our team?

Yes. Purple includes tailored training to help different users understand the platform and use it confidently in their role, from day-to-day delivery through to oversight and reporting.

How do I ask for support with the platform?

You will have a dedicated account manager to support you with the platform and help you get the most from Purple. For any questions, technical support or day-to-day queries, you can also contact the team directly at info@purple.education. Purple is a powerful technology platform, but it is backed by real people who care deeply about the work behind it, so support always stays responsive, personal and human.

Users & access

How do users get set up on Purple?

Once an account has been created, the user receives a secure activation link by email to set up their access. This makes onboarding simple and secure, while ensuring only approved users can activate an account.

How do users log in to Purple?

After activation, users log in securely through Purple using two-factor authentication each time they access the platform. This adds an extra layer of protection and helps ensure access remains secure at all times.

Who can add or remove users?

Admin users, who are chosen when your account is created, can easily add new users, remove access when needed and manage user permissions directly within the platform. This gives organisations clear control over who can access Purple and what they can see.

Can user access be tailored to different roles?

Yes. Purple uses a hierarchy-based approach to user management, so access can be aligned to a user’s role and level of responsibility. This means users only see the information that is relevant to them, helping maintain clarity, control and data security.

Can users see different levels of information?

Yes. Purple is designed so that visibility can be tailored across the organisation, whether that is at school, trust, programme or individual user level. This ensures staff have access to the insight they need, without exposing information that sits outside their role.

Is user access secure and controlled?

Yes. Between secure account activation, two-factor authentication and role-based permissions, Purple is designed to keep access tightly controlled. Users are also automatically logged out after a short period of inactivity to help protect the data, giving schools, trusts and organisations confidence that information remains secure and only visible to authorised users.

Security & data protection

Is Purple GDPR compliant?

Yes. Purple is designed with data protection and security in mind, supporting schools, trusts and organisations to use the platform in a way that is secure, controlled and aligned with UK data protection expectations.

Who controls the data in Purple?

The school, trust or organisation remains in control of its data. Purple provides the platform and analysis, while access, permissions and visibility can be managed by authorised users.

Can Purple support our data protection or IT review process?

Yes. The Purple team can support data protection, IT and security review processes by providing the information needed to help organisations assess the platform with confidence. We can also support with DPIAs and related documentation where needed.

Data & synchronisation

How does Purple get its data?

Purple connects securely to schools’ existing MIS using trusted integrations, such as Wonde. Once authorised, key data flows automatically into Purple, removing the need for manual uploads or duplicated reporting.

How often is Purple updated?

Purple uses regular data synchronisation from the MIS, ensuring dashboards reflect live daily information. That means leaders and delivery staff can work from timely, reliable insight whenever they need it.

How much historic data can Purple analyse?

Purple can analyse up to five years of historic data, giving schools, trusts and organisations a much deeper view of patterns, progress and long-term impact. This makes it easier to identify trends over time, compare changes year on year and build a stronger evidence base for decision-making.

Does Purple require manual data uploads?

No. Once the connection is authorised, data flows automatically into Purple, removing the need for repeated manual uploads and reducing the risk of inconsistency.

What if something doesn’t look right in the data?

The Purple team monitors data health and can support with questions around access, data consistency or interpretation. If something doesn’t look right, support is available to investigate and resolve issues.

MIS integration

Which MIS does Purple work with?

Purple is designed to work with all leading school MIS through trusted integrations, making it easier for schools and trusts to connect existing data without changing the systems they already use.

Do schools need to change their MIS to use Purple?

No. Schools continue using their existing MIS. Purple connects securely in the background and pulls through the data needed for analysis without changing current systems or workflows.

What happens if a school changes their MIS?

If a school changes its MIS, the connection can simply be updated so data continues to flow into Purple with minimal disruption.

What happens if schools within a trust or organisation use different MIS?

Purple is designed to work across trusts where schools use different MIS. By standardising how data is brought together and analysed, Purple makes it possible to compare schools consistently, using averages and benchmarking, and build a clearer trust-wide view of performance, need and impact.
